Leadership and Entrepreneurs Collaborating

Welcome! In this blog post, I want to share a real-time experience that highlights how we can integrate leadership support and opportunities into our lives and the lives of others, especially young entrepreneurs.

Connecting with a Young Entrepreneur

This morning, I was chatting with a young lady on WhatsApp about ordering some prepared meals. I had reached out to her about 18 months ago, but for various reasons, it never materialized. Recently, I decided to follow up, and to my delight, she got back to me first thing this morning, just as she promised. This promptness was the first thing that impressed me.

Refining Business Models

Over the past 12 to 18 months, she has refined her business model from ad hoc meal orders to a subscription service. Customers can now choose from weekly or monthly plans, selecting how many meals they need—whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner—with deliveries three times a week. This shift shows her commitment to honing her business strategy.

Challenges in Scaling

However, she also shared some common challenges faced by entrepreneurs: the difficulty of putting systems and the right people in place. This isn't just a local issue; it's a global challenge. Despite having a clear business plan and vision, she struggles with the operational side of things.

Offering Support

Recognizing her efforts, I reached out to offer my support. I specialize in systems and have a passion for helping young entrepreneurs scale their businesses. I made it clear that I wasn't soliciting her for business; I genuinely wanted to help. I suggested a brief 10-minute conversation to share some small strategies that could free up her valuable time.

Connecting with Like-Minded Entrepreneurs

This approach is something I find myself doing more often. For instance, I also know a young lady who does my hair and another who does my nails. Both are driven entrepreneurs looking to expand their businesses but face similar challenges. I suggested they connect, as they could benefit from sharing ideas and experiences.

Creating Opportunities for Collaboration

By introducing them, I aimed to create a space for collaboration and support. Even if they never end up working together, having like-minded individuals to bounce ideas off can be invaluable. These connections can lead to new opportunities, whether it's collaborating on a project or simply providing encouragement.

Leading with Heart

Ultimately, my goal is to help these young entrepreneurs succeed. I want nothing in return except to see them thrive. This experience serves as a reminder that we can all show up as leaders in our communities, offering support and guidance without expecting anything back.

Until next time, take care of yourselves and remember to look for opportunities to uplift those around you!
